Mumbai17 march. Amidst the positive trend of global markets and buying in metal and auto stocks, the domestic stock market looked green for the second consecutive day and both the benchmark indices closed on strength on Tuesday. While BSE Sensex rose by 568 points and crossed 76,000, NSE Nifty gained 172 points and reached near 23,500.
Sensex 0.75% up 76,070.84 closed on points
Bombay Stock Exchange (BSE)’s benchmark index Sensex based on 30 shares closed at 76,070.84 points, up 567.99 points or 0.75 per cent. At one time during trading it had increased by 801.41 points to reach 76,304.26 points. Among Sensex related companies, 20 shares were in profit and 10 showed weakness.

On the other hand, the 50-share sensitive index Nifty of National Stock Exchange (NSE) also closed at 23,581.15 points with a gain of 172.35 points or 0.74 percent. Among Nifty related companies, shares of 36 closed in the green and 14 recorded a decline.
Investors earned Rs 2.78 lakh crore
The total market capitalization of companies listed on BSE increased to Rs 433.35 lakh crore today, which was Rs 430.57 lakh crore on the previous trading day. Thus, the market cap of companies listed in BSE has increased by about Rs 2.78 lakh crore. In other words, the wealth of investors increased by about Rs 2.78 lakh crore.
Eternal has the highest share 5.70 percentage increased
Among the companies included in the Sensex group, Eternal’s shares rose the most by 5.70 percent. Apart from this, shares of Tata Steel, Mahindra & Mahindra, Bharat Electronics, Larsen & Toubro, Bharti Airtel and Maruti Suzuki also rose significantly. At the same time, a declining trend was seen in the shares of Infosys, Bajaj Finance, ITC, Tata Consultancy Services and HCL Tech.
FII has 9,365.52 Sold shares worth crores of rupees
According to stock market data, foreign institutional investors (FIIs) sold shares worth Rs 9,365.52 crore on Monday, while domestic institutional investors (DIIs) bought shares worth Rs 12,593.36 crore. At the same time, global oil standard Brent crude rose by 2.44 percent to reach $ 102.7 per barrel.
