LPG eKYC: Due to tension in West Asia, there is a shortage of LPG gas cylinders across the country. Meanwhile, the government has issued an important instruction for LPG consumers, under which it has now been made mandatory to do e-KYC of LPG gas. While issuing a post on the social media platform ‘X’, the Ministry of Petroleum and Natural Gas wrote that domestic LPG consumers will now be able to easily complete the e-KYC process sitting at home through mobile app and ‘Aadhaar FaceRD’ app.

Through which app to do LPG e-KYC?

Let us tell you that consumers who have Indane gas connection can do e-KYC through ‘IndianOil ONE’ app. Bharat Gas consumers can complete the e-KYC process by using the ‘Hello BPCL’ app. For this, consumers do not need to go to any computer shop, rather they can do this work sitting at home.

How to do LPG e-KYC sitting at home?

  • To complete the e-KYC process, first of all you have to download your LPG provider’s mobile app and ‘AadhaarFaceRD’ app.
  • After this, login to the app by entering the mobile number linked to the LPG connection.
  • After registering, the main page will open in front of you, where you will have to click on the option of ‘e-KYC’.
  • In the second step, enter your Aadhaar number and verify it.
  • After this, scan your face (Face Authentication) through Aadhaar FaceRD app.
  • As soon as the verification is successful, the system will complete your e-KYC process.

Who is required to do LPG e-KYC?

The Ministry of Petroleum and Natural Gas has clearly told LPG gas consumers that it is very important to get e-KYC done, especially for those who have not yet completed this process.

These days, due to the shortage of gas, such news are trending on social media in which e-KYC is being said to be mandatory for all consumers. But the Ministry has clarified that this instruction is mainly for those consumers whose e-KYC has not been done yet.

PNG people cannot use LPG gas

Apart from this, the government has taken an important decision saying that people who already have piped natural gas (PNG) connections in their homes can no longer use the subsidized domestic LPG gas connections. According to the new rules, consumers who have PNG connection at home will have to immediately switch off their domestic LPG connection. That means consumers will have to choose only one of the two options.
