The controversy regarding the property of late actress Sridevi in Chennai has deepened. Producer Boney Kapoor and his daughters Jhanvi Kapoor and Khushi Kapoor have moved the Madras High Court for protection of this property. According to reports, the Kapoor family has challenged the order of the Chengalpattu Additional District Judge refusing to dismiss the property related petition. The case was heard before Justice TV Thamilselvi, who has fixed the next hearing for March 26, 2026. Till then the proceedings of the district court have been stayed.

A woman named Chandrabanu and her two children—M.C. Sivakami and M.C. Natarajan—has claimed a stake in this property. He has alleged that the documents through which Sridevi and her sister had purchased 4.7 acres of land are fake and this land belonged to their grandfather.

Boney Kapoor has completely rejected these allegations and said that this claim is not legally valid. He also said that the petition has been filed after 37 years, which also raises questions in terms of time limit. He has also declared Chandrabanu’s marriage invalid and alleged an attempt at fraud.
