Mumbai: Citizens are facing serious problems due to shortage of LPG cylinders in Mumbai. Cooking is becoming difficult in home kitchens and restaurants. The ongoing conflict in West Asia has affected LPG supplies in India, as the country imports about 60 percent of its LPG requirements. Most of its supply comes from the Strait of Hormuz, which is currently closed. Iran’s response to US and Israeli attacks has further exacerbated the problem.

Twinkle Khanna’s smart move

Mumbai visitors are facing tough times in getting domestic gas cylinders. Citizens are standing in long queues at many places. Restaurants and hotels are also not immune to this problem, and some places are resorting to coal or induction stoves. The demand for induction stoves has suddenly increased in the shops, due to which the prices have also increased wildly. The stock is also getting exhausted rapidly.

Meanwhile, Bollywood actor Akshay Kumar has shared his views on the subject. During an event in Mumbai, he told the media that there has been no serious problem in his house yet. He said in a light tone, ‘There is no problem as of now. My wife has ordered two inductions yesterday itself. I don’t know whether he has reached home or not.

Akshay Kumar’s wife, Twinkle Khanna, has prepared smartly to deal with this situation. They have ordered two induction stoves as backup, which shows that even common people are looking for alternative options. Akshay said that it is a matter of happiness that people are planning in advance. This problem is not limited to Mumbai only; The situation is similar in Delhi, Pune and other cities also. Hotels and caterers are also facing problems due to this shortage. In many places, gas is being sold in the black market at high prices.

The government says that priority is being given to domestic consumers and ships are being sent to increase the supply. However, it may take a long time for the situation to become normal. People are being advised to use gas sparingly and use induction or other electric appliances when necessary.
