Historic start of the second phase

Punjab News: The ongoing fight against drugs in Punjab has now reached the second and decisive phase. Aam Aadmi Party national convenor Arvind Kejriwal and Chief Minister Bhagwant Singh Mann launched the second phase of the ‘War Against Drugs’ campaign in Phagwara. The aim of this campaign is to make Punjab completely drug free.

Big success of first phase

Arvind Kejriwal said that in the first phase, historic action was taken against drug smugglers.
More than 28,000 cases were registered in the last 10 months and culprits were convicted in 88 percent of the cases.
Nearly 42,000 smugglers were arrested, including 350 big smugglers.
For the first time, illegal properties of big drug smugglers were bulldozed and they were sent to jail.

Campaign strengthened with public participation

Kejriwal said that the biggest strength of this fight is the people.
More than one and a half lakh people till now Village Defense Committees Have joined.
In every village and ward, 10 to 20 volunteers are sending information about drug smugglers to the government.
The identities of all these are being kept completely secret.

Every citizen can connect through missed call

To join this fight against drugs, the government has issued a missed call number.

The government team itself will contact and provide training and responsibility.

Punjab News: Walking tours and massive solidarity

Walking tours will be taken out across Punjab from January 10 to January 30.
The objective of these yatras is to connect every village and locality with this campaign.
There will be a big state level unity of 1.5 lakh village defense committees on 13th February.

Drug addicts are not criminals, they deserve treatment

Chief Minister Bhagwant Singh Mann said that drug addicts are not criminals.
They need sympathy, treatment and rehabilitation.
The government has increased the capacity of drug de-addiction centers from 1,500 to 5,000 beds.
Better food, treatment and facilities are being provided in all the centres.

Solid system to stop drones on the border

The Chief Minister said that most of the drugs come from Pakistan through drones.
Now the Punjab government has installed anti-drone systems with its own funds.

The Chief Minister said that the government has so far given jobs to more than 61,000 youth without corruption.
To keep the youth away from drugs, sports stadiums, gyms and sports kits are being provided.
The aim of the government is that the youth should stay away from drugs and become strong and self-reliant.

Chief Minister Bhagwant Singh Mann said that the previous governments gave protection to the drug trade.
He said that these crimes cannot be forgiven.
