FASTag Annual Pass Price Hike: If you often travel on the National Highway in your car or private vehicle, then this news is very important for you. Actually, the National Highways Authority of India (NHAI) has decided to increase the prices of FASTag annual pass. This pass will become expensive from the beginning of the new financial year 2026-27 i.e. from April 1. NHAI said that it has increased the fee of its FASTag annual pass by Rs 75 to Rs 3,075 for the financial year 2026-27. These increased new prices will be applicable from 1 April 20206.
To provide economic relief to commuters using national highways, the annual pass facility was launched on August 15, 2025. In a statement, NHAI said it is increasing the applicable fee of FASTag annual pass to Rs 3,075 from the existing Rs 3,000 for the financial year 2026-27.
More than 56 lakh people are using it
According to Bussiness report, the authority said that among private vehicle owners FASTag Annual Pass The use is continuously increasing. At present more than 56 lakh users are taking advantage of this facility. This pass is applicable for non-commercial vehicles like private cars, jeeps and vans.

Actually, Fastag Annual Pass was introduced to improve the experience of people traveling on the National Highway. Trains in which the Annual Pass is active are allowed to pass through toll plazas located on national highways up to 200 times. This pass is valid for one year. Whichever of these conditions is fulfilled first. This facility is available only to private cars, jeeps and vans. The objective of this initiative was to reduce the need for repeated toll payments and promote widespread use of digital toll collection through FASTag across the entire National Highway network.

According to NHAI, this facility is available at around 1,150 toll plazas and National Expressways across the country. It is also quite easy to buy. You can take it by visiting the ‘Rajmarg Yatra’ mobile app or the official website of NHAI. With this, you will not need to recharge again and again and in just one payment you will be free from the worries of the whole year.
Who will benefit most?
The biggest benefit of this scheme is given to those people who often move from one city to another for work or personal reasons. If statistics are to be believed, the cost per trip through this pass is much lower than the normal toll rate. According to data from the Ministry of Road Transport and Highways (MoRTH), currently more than 50 lakh people are using this annual pass. The share of this pass in the total car transactions on the National Highway is about 28 percent.

The digital toll collection system i.e. FASTag has been quite successful in the country. About 11.86 crore FASTags have been issued since 2016, out of which about 5.9 crore are currently in active mode. As the highway network is expanding, people are adopting such pass schemes to save time and money.
