Approval received after government meeting
According to KSCA officials, an important meeting was held in Bengaluru Assembly (Vidhan Soudha) on Monday. The meeting was presided over by Karnataka Home Minister G Parameshwara. Expert Committee, KSCA, RCB franchise and other concerned officials participated in it. A press release issued by KSCA said that during the meeting, the expert committee presented a detailed report of the security and infrastructure related arrangements made at the stadium. According to the report, all the necessary arrangements have been completed and the stadium is completely ready to host the match. After this the Home Minister gave formal approval to organize the IPL match here.
Why was there a ban on Chinnaswamy Stadium?
It is worth noting that during the victory parade after RCB’s victory last year, a huge crowd had gathered outside the stadium and after that there was a stampede. 11 people lost their lives and many others were injured in this tragic incident. After this accident, permission to organize any major cricket match in the stadium was stopped. This stampede had also raised many questions regarding the security arrangements in the stadium.
