Senior JDU leader KC Tyagi left the party, remembered his 50 years of relationship with Nitish Kumar
Patna, 17 March. Senior Janata Dal United (JDU) leader KC Tyagi, who has been marginalized for a long time due to taking a stand different from the party line, formally announced his departure from the party on Tuesday. He took the step just a day after party chief Nitish Kumar won the Rajya Sabha elections, which is considered a significant political development within the party.
It is noteworthy that Tyagi was angry with his own party for the last few days and was giving statements against it. Due to this, it was being speculated that his relationship with the party was not going to last long. Now by sharing his resignation on social media, he himself has made it clear that he is leaving the primary membership of JDU and will not take further membership.
KC Tyagi, recalling the beginning of the party in a detailed letter, said that JDU was formed on October 30, 2003 after the merger of Samata Party and Janata Dal under the leadership of George Fernandes.
Tyagi in the letter mentioned his long association with the party, under which he had worked closely with leaders like Sharad Yadav and Nitish Kumar by holding important organizational positions like Chief General Secretary, Chief Spokesperson and Political Advisor.
Announcing his decision, Tyagi said that he has not renewed his party’s membership after the recent membership drive ended. However, he stressed that there has been no change in his commitment towards the welfare of farmers, Dalits and deprived sections of the society.
Will hold a meeting with supporters and colleagues on March 22
KC Tyagi told that he will hold a meeting with his supporters and colleagues on March 22. Further strategy will be decided in this. It is believed that he may soon choose a new path. According to some media reports, Tyagi may now become active in the politics of Uttar Pradesh as he has many supporters there.
Recently, he had kept a different stand from the party on the statement regarding Bangladeshi players in IPL and the issue of Palestine. On this, the party had said that KC Tyagi does not hold any post in the party, so his statement should not be linked to JDU. For a long time the party was also not giving him much importance.
