It started in South Korea and will soon be discontinued in other countries as soon as the stock runs out. This decision was taken almost three months after its launch, while the phone was selling rapidly in the US and other markets. The company also clarified that there will be no next generation model of this phone, as it was not made for the mass market and the manufacturing cost was very high.

The Galaxy Z TriFold was launched in December and went out of stock as soon as it went on sale in every market. This phone was selling rapidly in America and South Korea also. Despite this, the company decided to discontinue it because it was not designed for the mass market and the cost of manufacturing it was too high.
Limited supply and no profit
Samsung had already told that this phone will come with limited units only in select markets. Its price was in lakhs, while the company was not getting profits due to high construction costs and support expenses. The purpose of the Galaxy Z TriFold was simply to show that Samsung could make a trifold phone.
Next generation model will not come
Samsung has made it clear that there will be no next generation variant of Galaxy Z TriFold. After Huawei, Samsung was the second company to introduce a trifold phone. Now the company will focus its attention on other innovative smartphone models and foldable technology.
