A song trending on the internet has shaken Bollywood and Kannada cinema. The item song ‘Sarke Chunar Teri Sarke’ from the Kannada film ‘KD: The Devil’ is being heavily trolled on social media due to its bold and obscene lyrics. This track, filmed on Nora Fatehi and Sanjay Dutt, got embroiled in controversy as soon as it was released, after which the Hindi version was removed from all platforms. The makers have talked about bringing a clean version soon, but the controversy is not stopping yet.

Actress Kangana Ranaut has also openly criticized this song. While talking to the media outside the Parliament, he made a scathing attack on Bollywood and demanded strict action. Singer Rakib Alam also apologized after the controversy and called himself only a translator.

The whole country is condemning him. Is reprimanding them. But I don’t think he has any shame. Because we have been listening to such songs since childhood. This is not a big deal yet. But they have been banned from time to time and now I feel there should be more strictness for them.

The display of such obscenity affects social and cultural values. It has become difficult to sit and watch TV with the family. I think some good control will have to be imposed on Bollywood.

Singer Rakib Alam apologized

Singer Rakib Alam, who wrote Hindi lyrics of the song ‘Sarke Chunar Teri’, also became a victim of trolling. On Tuesday, he reacted to the criticism on the internet. In a conversation with HT City, Alam told that this song was not written by him but by the film’s director Prem.

He says- I have not written these lyrics. Director Prem had written it in Kannada. When I was asked to write this, I refused. I told them that such songs would not play. Will be censored. He asked me to just translate the Kannada version and give it to him. Words like ‘suckega’, ‘chatega’ were present in the original version only. Rakib Alam told that this entire song is about liquor bottles. He is feeling embarrassed because of singing ‘Sarke Chunar’. Now the makers have asked him to write a new version with clean lyrics.
