New Delhi, March 18. The holy festival of Chaitra Navratri is starting from Thursday. On the holy festival of Navratri, various forms of Goddess Durga are worshipped. Apart from this, the festivals of Ugadi, Gudi Padwa, Cheti Chand, Navareh and Sadibuchero are also celebrated in different parts of the country on this day. President Draupadi Murmu has extended hearty greetings to the countrymen on this auspicious occasion.
President Murmu said in his message, ‘On the auspicious occasion of Chaitra Shukladi, Ugadi, Gudi Padwa, Cheti Chand, Navreh and Sadibucheroba, I extend my greetings and good wishes to all the countrymen living in the country and abroad. These festivals celebrated on the arrival of New Year are symbols of India’s rich cultural diversity and our deep connection with nature.
The President said, ‘Festivals inspire us to move forward in life with new hopes, new resolutions and positive energy. These festivals, carriers of our culture, also reflect our glorious tradition of sharing happiness together. I wish that all these festivals bind the different communities of India in the bond of love, harmony and affection and bring happiness and prosperity to all.
