‘Dhurandhar 2’ rampage in theatres: Global opening of Rs 153 crores confirmed, huge craze among fans even after censor board’s scissors

New Delhi. In the history of Indian cinema, there are some films for which the audience waits with bated breath, and Ranveer Singh’s ‘Dhurandhar 2’ (Dhurandhar The Revenge) is proving to be exactly such a film. This film is going to hit the theaters from the evening of 18th March, but even before its release, the earnings figures presented by this spy-thriller have shocked the trade analysts. Made under the direction of Aditya Dhar, the magic of this film is going over the heads of the audience. The grandeur of the film can be gauged from the fact that it is a long and intense cinematic journey of 3 hours 49 minutes. Considering the tremendous action and bold language shown in the film, CBFC has given it an ‘A’ certificate, which simply means that the film is only for adult audiences, yet there is no decrease in its demand.

If we look at the earning figures, ‘Dhurandhar 2’ has broken all the old records in terms of advance booking. The film has collected a huge amount of “Rs 44.25 Crore” only for the shows of March 18th. At the same time, more than 7 lakh tickets have been sold for March 19, due to which the collection of “33.60 crores” has already been confirmed. Ranveer Singh’s magic is working not only in India but also abroad, where the film has collected Rs. 75 crores from the advance booking of the weekend. If all these figures are added up, the film has already made a business of more than Rs 153 crore globally even before its release.

Five states within India have given historic support to this film. Maharashtra is at the top with 9.47 crores, while advance bookings worth crores have also been made from Karnataka, Delhi, Gujarat and Uttar Pradesh. Ranveer Singh himself has made a big statement about this film that now the future of Indian cinema will be decided by Dhurandhar The Revenge. However, the film has to go through the rigorous process of the Censor Board. The board has cut many violent scenes of the film, such as shots of decapitation and eye crushing and muted many abusive words. Has also been done, so that the film maintains its dignity.

Trade experts believe that if the film gets positive word-of-mouth, it can make a gross collection of Rs 200 crore on its first day. If this happens, it will be the first Bollywood film to touch this magical figure on the opening day. By the weekend, the film’s Indian collection is likely to cross Rs 300 crore and the global collection will cross Rs 500 crore. Talking about music, two of its songs are said to have a connection with Pakistan, which are already trending on YouTube. Sara Arjun has also expressed her gratitude towards the audience and said that the real leaders are our people. Now it remains to be seen how many more box office records will be broken when Ranveer Singh’s action starts on screen in the evening.
