Disappointment among fans due to cancellation of film’s preview show
Mumbai: Before the release of Ranveer Singh’s new film ‘Dhurandhar: The Revenge’, fans have got a big shock. Tamil and Telugu language preview shows scheduled for this evening have been suddenly canceled in many theatres. South viewers are quite disappointed with this and are expressing their displeasure on social media. The full release of the film is scheduled for tomorrow, 19th March 2026, which will be released in Hindi as well as Tamil, Telugu, Kannada and Malayalam.
Tamil and Telugu shows of ‘Dhurandhar 2’ canceled
Ranveer Singh plays the role of Indian detective Jaskirat Singh Rangi in the film, who emerges as mob boss Hamza Ali Mazari after the death of Rehman dacoit (Akshaye Khanna) in the first part. This action thriller of director Aditya Dhar has been quite popular after the success of the first part and was also earning well in advance booking. But Tamil and Telugu premiere shows, which were scheduled to start at 5 pm today, have been canceled in many theaters in Tamil Nadu, Andhra Pradesh and Telangana.
Dhurandhar: The Revenge – Tamil paid previews scheduled for this evening have been canceled due to non-availability. Hindi paid previews will be scheduled instead. We are initiating the refunds shortly.

The reason for cancellation is said to be that the dubbed versions of these languages could not reach the theaters on time. Some reports also mentioned technical problems and delays in post-production. For example, Coimbatore’s Broadway Cinemas posted on its X handle that Tamil paid preview shows have been canceled due to unavailability of content. He also said that the Hindi version of the shows will continue and a refund process is being initiated for the affected viewers.
Similarly, many theaters in Telugu regions also gave the same information. At some places only the Hindi version is being shown on the screen so that the preview shows are not canceled completely. Fans say this last-minute setback is disappointing after months of waiting. People are expressing their disappointment on social media. One user wrote, “South fans are always ignored, now even the preview is cancelled!”
The makers of the film have not released any official statement yet, but trade analysts believe that this is due to delays in post-production. Hopefully versions for all languages will be available in time for tomorrow’s full release. The preview shows of the Hindi version are going on as scheduled and there is excitement among the fans. Apart from Ranveer Singh, Sanjay Dutt, Arjun Rampal and other actors are also included in this film.
