More West Bengal Officers Transferred: Election Commission is making rapid transfers in West Bengal, now DM of these districts changed

Kolkata. To conduct assembly elections in West Bengal in a fair and fear-free environment, the Election Commission is rapidly transferring officers. The Election Commission has now issued orders for new appointment to the post of DM of 13 districts of West Bengal. In the latest order, the Election Commission has changed the DMs of Cooch Behar, Jalpaiguri, North Dinajpur, Malda, Murshidabad, Nadia, East Bardhaman, North and South 24 Parganas, Darjeeling and Alipurduar of West Bengal. Apart from these, the Election Commission has also changed the Kolkata North Municipal Commissioner and the District Election Officer of Kolkata South.

Earlier on Tuesday, the Election Commission had removed many more top police officers of West Bengal. Dr. Rajesh Kumar Singh is on the post of ADG of South Bengal region, K. is on the post of ADG of North Bengal region. Jayaraman, Dr. Pranav Kuntar to the post of Police Commissioner of Asansol/Durgapur, Akhilesh Kumar Chaturvedi to the post of Police Commissioner of Howrah, Amit Kumar Singh to the post of Police Commissioner of Barrackpur and Sunil Kumar Yadav to the post of Police Commissioner of Chandannagar were appointed by the Election Commission. Apart from this, the Election Commission had also deployed new officers on the post of SP and Kolkata Central DCP in Barasat, Cooch Behar, Birbhum, Islampur, Hooghly Rural, Diamond Harbor, Murshidabad, Basirhat, Malda, Purba Medinipur, West Medinipur and Jangipur in West Bengal.

Along with announcing the dates of West Bengal Assembly elections, the Election Commission had removed the state Chief Secretary, Home Secretary, DGP, DG, IG, Kolkata Police Commissioner. Only after this, the Election Commission is running a speedy transfer express in West Bengal. The officers who have been removed by the Election Commission have also been asked not to be appointed for any election related work. Apart from this, the Election Commission has also appointed observers on a large scale in West Bengal. Voting for assembly elections is to be held in West Bengal on 23 and 29 April. The results of which will be declared on May 4.
