Seoul’s Incheon has surpassed Singapore Changi to be voted the world’s second cleanest airport as part of the World Airport Awards, according to London-based aviation consultancy Skytrax.

Changi, home to the world’s largest indoor waterfall and state-of-the-art facilities, ranked third this year, based on a survey that assessed passengers’ experiences across multiple factors, including waiting times, queuing systems, priority lanes, e-gate efficiency, and the courtesy and effectiveness of immigration staff.

Incheon International Airport, the main gateway serving Seoul, is known for impeccable maintenance of terminals, washrooms, and high-efficiency facilities.

The airport upholds high cleanliness standards by deploying modern cleaning robots alongside a workforce of more than 300 staff and hundreds of maintenance devices in daily operation.

The 2026 World’s Cleanest Airports list is divided into two categories: one for all airports and another for airports with up to 30 million passengers annually.

Tokyo Haneda in Japan remains the cleanest of all airports while the country’s New Chitose topped the list for airports serving up to 30 million passengers annually.
