New Delhi, March 19. Prime Minister Narendra Modi spoke to four heads of state of the world between Wednesday and Thursday. On Wednesday, he discussed the serious situation of the West Asia crisis with the Crown Prince of Kuwait and on Thursday with the Sultan of Oman, French President Macron and the Prime Minister of Malaysia. In his conversation with his Malaysian counterpart Ibrahim, the PM described diplomacy and dialogue as necessary to establish peace. He said, ‘I spoke to my friend Malaysian Prime Minister Anwar Ibrahim. Heartily congratulated him and the people of Malaysia on the occasion of the upcoming Hari Raya Aidilfitri festival. We expressed concern over the situation in West Asia, and also agreed that peace and stability can be restored by reducing tension only through dialogue and diplomacy.

PM Modi addressed the Sultan of Oman as ‘brother’. Said, ‘I had a good conversation with my brother Sultan Haitham bin Tariq and congratulated the people of Oman on Eid in advance. We also agreed that there is a need to give priority to dialogue and diplomacy for de-escalation and subsequent restoration of peace and stability. India condemns the violation of Oman’s sovereignty and territorial integrity and appreciates Oman’s efforts to facilitate the safe return of thousands of people, including Indian nationals. India and Oman are in favor of safe and free navigation through the Strait of Hormuz.
Earlier, Foreign Ministry spokesperson Randhir Jaiswal said that PM Modi had spoken to Crown Prince Sheikh Sabah of Kuwait on Wednesday night. Both the leaders talked about the current situation in West Asia and expressed concern over recent events. The Prime Minister also strongly condemned the attacks on Kuwait. Both leaders agreed that continuous dialogue is necessary for peace and stability in the region. PM Modi also thanked the Crown Prince for the safety of Indians living in Kuwait, as there is a large Indian community there.
