Summer Skin Care: Does sun damage your face in summer? Bring back the glow with these skin care tips
Skin Care Routine: As temperatures are rising, skin problems like sunburn, tanning and excessive oil production have become common. The scorching sun not only darkens the complexion but also increases the risk of skin cancer and pre-mature aging. In such a situation, a proper summer skin care routine should be adopted.
As the summer season approaches, our skin needs extra care. Strong UV rays, dust and sweat together clog the pores of the face, which increases the problem of acne and dullness. Many people follow winter skin care even in summer, which acts like slow poison for the skin. In summer, products that allow the skin to breathe should be used.
Right balance of cleansing and hydration
It feels good to wash the face frequently in summer, but excessive face wash can eliminate the natural oil of the skin. Use a foam-based cleanser twice a day. Also, choose water-based moisturizers instead of heavy creams. It deeply hydrates the skin without making it sticky.
sunscreen
Whether you’re indoors or outdoors, never forget sunscreen. Use a broad-spectrum sunscreen with an SPF of at least 30 to 50. Reapply it every 3 hours because its layer gets removed due to sweat. This is the most effective way to prevent tanning and wrinkles.

Use of Natural Cooling Agent
Do not immediately apply ice or cold water on your face after coming out from the sun. Instead, spray aloe vera gel or rose water. Aloe vera has anti-inflammatory properties that instantly soothe sunburn and redness. Apply a face pack of multani mitti and sandalwood once a week, which absorbs the heat of the skin.
Exfoliation is important
Due to sweat and oil, a layer of dead skin accumulates. Exfoliate your face with a mild scrub once or twice a week. This opens the pores and makes the skin glow. However, keep in mind that do not scrub just before going out in the sun.
Food and beauty sleep
Along with external products, internal nutrition is also important. Consume fruits like watermelon, cucumber and coconut water which keep the body cool from inside. Drink at least 3-4 liters of water a day so that the toxins can be flushed out.
Skin care in summer does not only mean being fair but also keeping the skin healthy and hydrated. If you notice any serious irritation or rashes on the skin, immediately consult a skin expert.
