Yuzvendra Chahal’s big revelation before IPL 2026, alcohol…
Spinner Yuzvendra Chahal has made a big revelation about his personal life before IPL 2026. Chahal will play for Punjab Kings this season and is paying special attention to his fitness before the start of the league.
Sports News: Before the Indian Premier League 2026, Indian spin bowler Yuzvendra Chahal has made a big revelation about his fitness, personal life and career. The 35-year-old leg spinner said that he has completely quit drinking alcohol for the last six months and now his entire focus is on improving fitness and performing better for the team.
Chahal said this during a conversation on the YouTube show of former South African captain AB de Villiers. He will be seen playing for Punjab Kings in IPL 2026 and is considering this season as very important for his career.
“Haven’t touched alcohol for six months.”
Chahal said in the interview that it becomes difficult to maintain fitness with increasing age, so he decided to change his lifestyle. He said,
‘I have given up drinking alcohol. It has been more than six months that I have not touched alcohol. I am 35 years old now, so I have to take more care of my body. I want to give 150 percent for my team.
He also said that being a senior player in the team, his responsibility increases further. I want the young players to learn something from me and I will give my best on the field, Chahal said.
Target of great performance in IPL 2026
This time Chahal will play for Punjab Kings in IPL and is dreaming of winning the title for the team for the first time. Last season, Punjab Kings came very close to winning the title, but had to face defeat in the final. Chahal said that last year some important players of the team were not available, which had an impact. He specifically mentioned Marco Jansen.
If Marco Jansen had been in the final we could have won the trophy. He had bowled brilliantly throughout the season and was important for the team with the bat too, Chahal said.
Chahal was struggling with injury last season
Chahal also told for the first time that he was injured in the last matches of the last IPL season. He revealed that he had fractured his ribs after the match against Kolkata. After this, his finger also got injured. He said, I was not completely fit. There were fractures in the ribs and later an injury to the finger also.
For this reason I was not able to do my natural leg spin in the semi-finals and finals. Despite this, he decided to play for the team as the team was close to winning the title.
