AAP-Congress working together to divert people’s attention: Punjab BJP chief!
Citing facts and figures, the BJP president said Chief Minister Bhagwant Mann has finally admitted that Rs 13,000 crore was received from the Center for disaster relief, of which only Rs 477 crore was spent and the remaining amount was misused by previous governments.
He wondered why the Chief Minister took so much time to review the records of the government treasury.
He said the Congress leaders, whom the Chief Minister is accusing of misappropriation of funds, are acting as protectors of the AAP government in Parliament.
He said the Congress has completely failed to play its role as the opposition, and its leaders have either ‘sold their voices’ to Mann or have lost the ability to speak due to their past corruption.
He said that now both the parties together are spreading hatred against the Center and BJP. By presenting the data, Jakhar refuted the narrative being run against the BJP-led central government, which he termed false.
He said that during the UPA government, the agriculture budget was Rs 21,933 crore, while the BJP government has increased it to Rs 1.30 lakh crore.
Under the PM-Kisan scheme, Rs 4.27 lakh crore has been transferred directly to the bank accounts of farmers.
Fertilizer subsidy, which was Rs 18,460 crore during the UPA era, has increased to Rs 1.77 lakh crore this year under the BJP government.
Taking aim at the Chief Minister, the BJP President raised questions as to why the state government has not implemented its own agriculture policy.
He said that the draft of the farmers’ policy is ready from October 2023, then what is the Chief Minister waiting for? He questioned that if there are any flaws in the policy, what steps are being taken to remove them.
