Big blow to Rajasthan Royals, star all-rounder out of IPL 2026 due to injury
With just a few days left for the start of IPL 2026, the players of many teams have also started training. Players from abroad have also arrived in India. Sam Curran had an outstanding performance in the World Cup. He not only bowled but also batted for England in the World Cup. There is a bad news for Rajasthan Royals. Their star all-rounder Sam Curran is likely to miss the entire tournament due to injury.
According to ESPNcricinfo, England all-rounder Sam Curran will be out of action for his new franchise this season due to a possible thigh injury. We tell you that Rajasthan Royals traded Ravindra Jadeja and Sam Karan to CSK in exchange for Sanju Samson this year. Karan was last seen on the cricket field in the T20 World Cup semi-final match against India on March 5, in which his team suffered a defeat.
Rajasthan Royals has not yet made an official announcement about Sam Karan’s injury, so Rajasthan Royals fans have expressed concern on social media. Sam Karan was to play for his third franchise, Rajasthan Royals, after Punjab Kings and Chennai Super Kings. Karan made his IPL debut with Punjab Kings in 2019. He then played for CSK in 2020 and 2021. He returned to PBKS in 2023 as the league’s most expensive player for Rs 18.5 crore and played for them again in 2024.

CSK re-signed Karan for IPL 2025 for Rs 2.4 crore, where he scored 114 runs in five matches and took just one wicket. It is yet to be decided who RR will rope in to replace Karan, but it is understood that the franchise has considered a few options. Apart from Jadeja, RR have another all-rounder in the form of Donovan Ferreira – a power-hitter who can also bowl fast off-spin. Like Jadeja and Karan, Ferreira was also acquired by RR from Delhi Capitals in a trade for an original price of Rs 1 crore.
