PM Modi Mission Peace: Amidst the war in West Asia, PM Modi’s big initiative, spoke to the heads of state of 5 countries; Strict warning given regarding ‘Strait of Hormuz’
New Delhi. Prime Minister Narendra Modi has taken command at the global level amid the deepening clouds of war and deteriorating security situation in Middle East. On Thursday, PM Modi held detailed discussions over telephone with the top leaders of Qatar, France, Jordan, Oman and Malaysia. In this conversation, the Prime Minister not only expressed deep concern over the increasing violence in the region, but also strongly condemned the attacks on energy infrastructure. This diplomatic activism of India has come at a time when there is an outcry around the world regarding the supply of oil and gas. India’s tough stance on the ‘Strait of Hormuz’. Prime Minister Modi, in his conversation with all the five leaders, laid special emphasis on the need for safe and free navigation through the ‘Strait of Hormuz’. In fact, a large part of the global crude oil supply passes through this route. The PM made it clear that any obstruction in the uninterrupted transit of goods and energy would be fatal for the global economy. He reiterated that India is strictly against violation of the sovereignty and territorial integrity of the region. Called the kings of Qatar and Jordan ‘brothers’, wished them Eid. Along with diplomacy, PM Modi also showed the warmth of personal relationships. Addressing Qatar’s Emir Sheikh Tamim bin Hamad Al Thani and Jordan’s King Abdullah II as “my brothers”, the PM extended advance greetings to them on Eid-ul-Fitr. Expressing gratitude for the care taken by the Indian community in Qatar, the PM said that India stands in solidarity with Qatar in this hour of crisis. Discussed ‘Peace Plan’ with France, Macron expressed gratitude. PM Modi also had a long talk with French President Emmanuel Macron, India’s most trusted partner among European countries. The PM informed on social media platform X that both the countries will continue close coordination to reduce tensions and return to the path of dialogue. In response, Macron also praised India’s diplomacy for peace efforts, calling PM Modi a “dear friend”. Appealing for peace from Oman and Malaysia In a conversation with Sultan Haitham bin Tariq of Oman, PM Modi strongly condemned the violation of Oman’s sovereignty. Also praised Oman’s efforts to ensure the safe return home of thousands of Indians stranded in the war zone. PM Modi also reiterated the shared commitment with Malaysian PM Anwar Ibrahim that this fire can be extinguished only through dialogue and diplomacy. Diplomatic activity has increased since February 28. Let us tell you that the situation has remained tense since the attack on Iran by America and Israel on February 28. PM Modi has so far contacted almost all major world leaders including Saudi Arabia, UAE, Israel and Iran. India’s main objective is to ensure the safety of its citizens stranded in the region and avert a global energy crisis.
