Weather became pleasant due to rain in Delhi-NCR, Orange alert of heavy rain in many states, weather of Uttarakhand-Himachal changed due to snowfall.

After Thursday, Friday morning also started with rain in Delhi-NCR, due to which the weather pattern has completely changed. People have got relief from the heat due to continuous rain in many areas including Noida, Gurugram and Delhi. India Meteorological Department (IMD) has issued an orange alert for Delhi. According to the department, there is a possibility of rain throughout the day in Delhi, Noida, Dadri and Greater Noida on Friday. IMD has warned that strong winds may blow during this period, and there is also a possibility of lightning and hailstorm. The Meteorological Department has advised people to exercise caution and stay away from open places during bad weather. While on one hand a drop in temperature has been recorded due to rain, on the other hand there is a possibility of waterlogging and traffic impact at many places.

Apart from Delhi, alert of moderate to heavy rain has also been issued in Haryana, Punjab, Western Uttar Pradesh, Uttarakhand, Himachal Pradesh, Bihar, Jharkhand, West Bengal and many states of South India. At the same time, red alert has also been declared in some states of South India. The change in weather started with light drizzle on Wednesday, while the rain in Delhi-NCR on Thursday made the weather completely pleasant. Due to continuous cloudy sky and intermittent rain, people got relief from the heat of several days.

A drop in temperature has also been recorded due to strong winds. According to the Meteorological Department, the maximum temperature in Delhi on Thursday was 26.8 degrees Celsius, which is below normal and the lowest temperature recorded so far this month. Not only this, this time in March the highest rainfall has been recorded in the last three years. An average of 9.4 mm rainfall has been recorded so far, which is considered abnormal for this season. The Meteorological Department says that this change has happened due to the effect of western disturbance and the weather may continue to change like this for the next few days.

Why is it raining?

Meteorologist Mahesh Palawat told news agency PTI that at present the Western Disturbance is active over Northern Pakistan and Jammu and Kashmir, due to which there is heavy rain in the Western Himalayan regions. He told that due to the effect of this system, cyclonic circulation has also formed over Haryana, due to which it is raining in Delhi, Uttar Pradesh, Haryana and Punjab. According to Palawat, earlier there was a possibility of heavy rain, but now due to the seasonal system shifting towards the eastern part, the intensity of rain is reducing.

Devotees reached Vaishno Devi amidst rain

The enthusiasm of faith did not diminish even amidst the continuous rains and falling temperatures in Jammu and Kashmir. Despite severe cold and rain, thousands of devotees reached Mata Vaishno Devi Temple to visit. On the first day of Navratri, about 15,000 devotees attended the court of Mata. Even the rain-soaked yatra route could not dampen the enthusiasm of the devotees. Even amidst heavy rain, the road from Katra to Bhawan was seen filled with devotees. The devotees continued the journey with full enthusiasm and devotion amidst the chants of “Jai Mata Di” and devotional songs playing on the loudspeakers.

Weather changed in Rajasthan

The weather has taken a turn in Rajasthan during the last 24 hours. Light to moderate rain was recorded in many parts of the state, bringing down the temperature and providing relief from the heat. According to the India Meteorological Department, cyclonic circulation is active in some areas of the state. Due to this, rain was seen in many districts including Barmer, Alwar, Ajmer, Jaipur and Bharatpur. According to the forecast of the Meteorological Department, there is a possibility of rain with strong winds and thunder in the areas of Jaipur, Ajmer, Bharatpur and Kota divisions on Friday also.

However, the weather may remain relatively dry in most areas of Jodhpur, Bikaner and Udaipur divisions. The Meteorological Department said that after the next 24 hours i.e. March 21, the rainy season will gradually stop in the state. However, there is a possibility of light rain at isolated places in Bikaner and Shekhawati region on March 22.

Snowfall in Kedarnath and Badrinath

Due to the impact of the seasonal system, snowfall has been recorded in the higher reaches of Uttarakhand. There has been fresh snowfall in Badrinath and Kedarnath Dham. Apart from this, heavy snowfall has spread white blanket in many high altitude areas including Valley of Flowers, Trishul Mountain and Nanda Devi.

Light snowfall was also seen on the high hills of Munsiyari in Pithoragarh district. At the same time, after snowfall in high altitude areas like Harsil, Gangotri and Yamunotri of Uttarkashi, the view has become completely white. It is raining intermittently in the low-lying and plain areas, due to which a drop in temperature has been recorded. Cold has increased in the capital Dehradun also due to rain.

Snowfall in Himachal boosts tourism

Fresh snowfall in Himachal Pradesh has given new life to the tourism business. After the snowfall, the number of tourists has increased rapidly and bookings in hotels have also increased, due to which the faces of hoteliers have blossomed. Many parts of Manali and Lahaul-Spiti have been experiencing intermittent snowfall for the last three days. Heavy snowfall has been recorded in many areas including Gondla, Keylong, Kukumseri, Hansa and Kalpa. Due to snowfall, movement from Solang Valley was also banned for some time.

According to experts, this snowfall in mid-March is no less than a boon for the tourism industry, because the snow in high altitude areas persists till summer, which attracts tourists. While this rain and snowfall has boosted tourism, it has also brought relief to the farmers. Crops are expected to benefit from increased moisture.
