Indian origin Surya broke Mark Zuckerberg’s record, traveled from Delhi to America and now became the youngest billionaire.
In the era of technology, youth are rapidly reaching new heights and Indian origin Surya Midha is the latest example of this. At the age of just 22, Surya has made the record of becoming the world’s youngest self-made billionaire by acquiring wealth of $ 2.2 billion (about Rs 18,000 crore).
Earlier this title was held by Mark Zuckerberg at the age of 23, which has been broken by Surya after 18 years.
Mercor achieved great success
Surya Midha, along with his colleagues Brendan Foody and Adarsh Hiremath, started AI startup Mercor in the year 2023.
It is an AI-based platform, where interviews of candidates are conducted through AI avatars and helps companies in choosing the right talent. This makes the recruitment process faster and easier.
Company value increased after funding
In October 2025, Mercor received ‘Series C’ funding of $350 million, after which the company’s valuation reached $10 billion. Currently, Brendan Foody is the CEO of the company, Adarsh Hiremath is the CTO and Surya Midha is the board chairman.
Journey from Delhi to America
Surya Midha’s family is originally from Delhi, which later settled in America. He was born in Mountain View and raised in California. He studied at Georgetown University.
According to Forbes, Surya is currently among the youngest billionaires in the world.
