SIR process started in Uttarakhand from April, CEO Dr. BVRC Purushottam held a meeting with nodal officers, gave instructions for deployment of IT volunteers.
Dehradun: Administrative preparations have intensified regarding the proposed SIR in Uttarakhand in the coming month of April. In this sequence, Chief Electoral Officer (CEO) Dr. BVRC Purushottam held an important meeting with nodal officers in the Secretariat and reviewed the preparations in detail. In the meeting he issued several important guidelines to the concerned officials, the most prominent of which is to use technical assistance for digitization of calculation forms.
During the meeting, the CEO made it clear that technical strength at the grassroots level is necessary for the success of this campaign. Keeping this in mind, it has been decided to deploy IT volunteers with all the Booth Level Officers (BLOs) of the state.
Volunteers will help in digitization and compilation
Chief Electoral Officer Dr. Purushottam said that these IT volunteers will play an important role in the process of digitization of enumeration forms. Additionally, they will also assist the BLOs in distributing and then collecting these forms, thereby adding speed and accuracy to the entire process.
To implement this scheme effectively, the CEO has given instructions to the Additional Secretary Rural Development and Director Urban Development Department. He said that technically proficient youth should be involved in this campaign as soon as possible so that work can start smoothly at the grassroots level.
Special emphasis on mapping in Garhwal and Kumaon
In the meeting, the CEO also directed the Commissioners of Garhwal and Kumaon to give special emphasis on mapping work. Its objective is to prepare accurate and systematic data of all areas, so that there is no administrative hurdle of any kind during the campaign.
Many senior officials were present in this important meeting, including Director Urban Development Vinod Giri Goswami, Joint Chief Electoral Officer Prakash Chandra, Additional Secretary Jharna Kamthan, Director Women and Child Development BL Rana, and Deputy Chief Electoral Officer Kishan Singh Negi. Apart from this, Director SIC Manish Jugran, Additional Director ITDA Tirath Pal, Deputy Director Information Ravi Bijaraniyan and Additional Commissioners of Garhwal and Kumaon divisions also participated in the meeting and gave their suggestions.
