He said in his post that every candidate reflects the voice of the people of Kerala, their expectations and their trust. This team includes experienced leaders as well as young faces who are bringing change. It is a strong group of men and women who understand the nuances and problems of their constituency very well.
Former Wayanad MP Rahul Gandhi mentioned his special attachment to Kerala. He said that Kerala is like a home for me and the people there are my family. I am indebted to the people of Kerala for whatever they have taught me and the amount of love and affection they have given me. I will always be your companion.
Leader of Opposition in Lok Sabha Rahul Gandhi said that the message coming from Kerala is very clear. The public now wants change. They are looking for a government that will listen to them, understand their problems and work with honesty. He promised that together with the incoming UDF government, he will do everything possible for a better future of this beautiful state. He expressed confidence that Kerala will win and the UDF will lead.
This message of Rahul Gandhi has come a day after the list of 92 candidates was released by Congress. Assembly elections are to be held in Kerala on April 9. Congress has used all its strength to give a tough fight to the ruling LDF. This time the party has decided not to field any MP in the assembly elections.
Despite internal pressure, the party has expressed confidence in its state level leadership. Congress is contesting on a total of 92 seats. The remaining seats have been left for other UDF allies and some independents. It is noteworthy that Congress has been out of power in Kerala for the last decade.
