‘BJP had offered’, controversy again over horse trading in Rajya Sabha elections

Sanjay Singh, Patna. The politics of Bihar has once again become heated. A statement by Congress MLA from Chanpatia, Abhishek Ranjan has sparked a new debate between the government and the opposition. He claimed that during the Rajya Sabha elections, he had received an offer from BJP, which he clearly rejected. Ranjan called it not just politics but a fight of ideology and said that for him the party is paramount.

This statement has come at a time when questions are being raised on the unity of the Grand Alliance in the Rajya Sabha elections. During the voting, out of four MLAs, three from Congress and one from AZD were absent, due to which the turmoil in the political circles intensified. Incidents of phones being switched off and being left out of contact have once again given rise to allegations like Operation Lotus.

NDA won all five seats

Here, NDA proved its strategic edge by winning all five seats. The victory of all the candidates including Chief Minister Nitish Kumar has made this blow deeper for the opposition. Political analysts believe that this is not just electoral defeat but also psychological pressure.

MLAs were absent

Ranjan’s statement has also raised questions on the role of absent MLAs. Although he did not take anyone’s name, he hinted at the possibility of inducement and horse trading. This has intensified the debate on trust and coordination within the alliance.

On the other hand, the technical issue of Nitish Kumar going to Rajya Sabha and leaving the membership has also given rise to speculations. Looking at his political history the question of ‘what will happen now’ is resonating again. At present, suspense, strategy and doubt are at their peak in the politics of Bihar.
