Before Bengal elections, Mamata Banerjee played a big bet, announced monthly allowance for unemployed youth.
Trinamool Congress has released its manifesto regarding West Bengal Assembly elections. On this occasion, State Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee appealed to the people to remain united and stand strongly against BJP. He said that if central agencies try to scare or influence people, then there is no need to panic.
Promise of assistance of Rs 1,500 every month to unemployed youth
He alleged that outside forces try to create unrest in the state through money and weapons, but his government believes in taking all religions and communities together. Many important promises have been made for women and youth in the manifesto. Under the ‘Lakshmi Bhandar’ scheme, it has been said that Rs 1,500 will be given every month to general category women and Rs 1,700 to SC/ST category women. Apart from this, a promise has been made to provide financial assistance of Rs 1,500 every month to unemployed youth.
The government also claimed that the state is a leader in the MSME sector, where about 1.5 crore people are working and leather industry has become the major industry here. According to the election schedule, voting will be conducted in two phases in the state. In the first phase, voting will be held on 152 seats on April 23, while in the second phase, voting will be held on 142 seats on April 29. The results of the elections will be declared on May 4, on which the eyes of the entire country will be fixed.
Mamta Banerjee will contest elections from Bhawanipur seat
The list of candidates has also been released, in which Mamata Banerjee will contest from Bhawanipur seat. Shashi Panja has been given ticket from Manikatla, while Soham Chakraborty has been made the candidate from Chandipur and Tehta. Whereas, Jyotipriya Malik has been fielded from Habra seat. There is a stir within the party due to some leaders not getting tickets this time.
In the manifesto, special emphasis has been laid on farmers, health, education and basic facilities. It has been promised to make an agricultural budget of Rs 30,000 crore, provide a permanent house to every family and provide piped water to every house. It also includes providing health services in every area through ‘Duare Chikitsa’ and improving the infrastructure of schools under the ‘Banglar Shikshayatan’ scheme. Along with this, it has also been promised to make the state the business center of Eastern India and formation of new districts.
