Sonipat: 5 kidnappers arrested in STF encounter, 2 injured by bullets
The silence of the night was shattered by the sounds of firing in Bahadurgarh, Sonipat. Special Task Force (STF) arrested the kidnap gang that collected ransom of Rs 5 crore. In the encounter, two miscreants were shot by police firing, while the remaining three were immediately arrested.
STF stopped the suspects riding a Bolero at 2 o’clock near Mehandipur village. The miscreants started firing indiscriminately, but in retaliation Chitrandan alias Manjeet and Vinny got injured. The injured were taken to Sonipat Civil Hospital.
This case is related to the kidnapping of Hunarjeet, son of BDM College owner. The child was kidnapped from near the village shop on March 4, the day of Holi. Manish, a veterinary worker of the family, had shared the location. The ransom was paid at the canal bridge of Rohtak IMT, after which the child was released.
Police seized two pistols, four empty cartridges and the Bolero. The team of Murthal police station is investigating. The entire network of the gang can be exposed through interrogation. This action is a warning to the criminals in Haryana.
