“I Was Close to Join..,” Arsenal Star Reveals Shock Transfer Twist
David Raya has sent shockwaves through the football world after revealing he was on the verge of joining another European giant before sealing his move to Arsenal.
Speaking in an interview relayed by Fabrizio Romano, the Spanish goalkeeper admitted that his career could have taken a completely different turn. Raya disclosed that he was “very close” to joining another club before Arsenal stepped in with a decisive offer.
“I was very close to go to another club before joining Arsenal… and luckily that didn’t happen, so Arsenal made the bid,” Raya said.
The 28-year-old then revealed the identity of the club he nearly signed for, FC Bayern Munich. The German giants had shown strong interest in securing Raya’s services as they searched for stability between the posts.
However, Arsenal’s timely intervention changed everything. The North London side moved quickly in the transfer market, convincing Raya to make the switch to the Premier League instead.
Now, Raya to feature in tomorrow’s Carabao Cup final against Manchester City at Wembley. Arsenal who are on top of the Premier League table and also on top of their game in the UCL are very much a in contention to lift 4 trophies this season. The quadruple can give Arteta and Arsenal and obviously the goalkeeper Raya a major boost.
