Iran-Israel war: India’s energy security is under great threat due to the increasing war between Israel and America against Iran in West Asia. Due to the blockage on the Strait of Hormuz, India has deployed the Indian Navy in its surrounding seas to protect the merchant ships so that the movement of these ships is not affected.

Due to increasing war in West Asia, its most direct and fatal impact is on energy security in the whole world. Keeping this war in mind, India is also preparing for future emergency situations. A few days ago, the Indian Navy had formed two task forces to escort ships from the North Arabian Sea to Indian ports.
Now the Indian Navy is deploying more warships in the Gulf of Oman and the North Arabian Sea. The Indian Navy is deploying logistics support vessels and about seven naval ships in the region. The purpose of this deployment is also to ensure safe movement of LPG and fuel and to remain present near the Persian Gulf for any future deployment.
45% of India’s energy needs come from the Gulf region but the Strait of Hormuz is closed due to which this supply has almost stopped and India has no immediate alternative. Now the only option for India is to either buy Russian oil from the East or take oil and gas from the West via sea route from Venezuela and America. But adopting this option may cost a lot while the energy from the Gulf is very cheap.
