What did the KKR manager say?

A KKR official told IANS on Saturday, “Yes, Akash Deep has been ruled out of the upcoming Indian Premier League (IPL) 2026 season. He has not yet gone to BCCI’s CoE (Center of Excellence) in Bengaluru for rehab, but it is confirmed that he is not available for this season.”

According to IANS, Akash Deep is suspected to have a ‘stress reaction’ in his lower back, which usually takes 6 to 12 weeks to recover completely. It is believed that Akash Deep showed symptoms of this injury when he was playing for Bengal in the Ranji Trophy semi-final against Jammu and Kashmir at the Bengal Cricket Academy ground in Kalyani between 15 and 18 February.

The first collision will be with Mumbai

As of now, KKR’s fast bowling department includes Vaibhav Arora, Umran Malik, Blessing Muzarabani and Kartik Tyagi, while Cameron Green and Ramandeep Singh are the seam bowling options as all-rounders. KKR is exploring options for players in the fast bowling department by conducting trials at Eden Gardens.
