New Delhi. CISF (Central Industrial Security Force) has shown promptness and foiled a drug smuggling attempt at Mumbai airport. CISF has seized 2 kg of hydroponic weed. Also one person has been detained. Its price in the international market is estimated to be around Rs 2 crore. Hydroponic weed is a prohibited substance that is used for intoxication. The Government of India has completely banned it and neither it can be grown in India, nor can it be traded.
Giving information in the release issued by CISF, it has been said that the alertness and vigilance of CISF personnel once again foiled a major smuggling attempt. On March 20, a loader working at Mumbai airport was stopped while leaving the terminal building. A suspicious bag was found in it. During routine security check through Upon thorough investigation, the personnel confirmed that the banned item in the bag was hydroponic weed.

After this, CISF informed the Customs Department about this matter and handed over Weed and the person caught with him to the Customs officials. CISF’s commitment towards protecting the nation’s vital assets is further strengthened. Let us tell you that hydroponic weed is mainly produced in Thailand and other countries. This is a very expensive drug. It is in great demand in rave parties. For this reason it is brought to India through smuggling from places like Bangkok and Hong Kong.
