International Day Of Forests Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath Honors Brave Children

Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath honored the brave children at Indira Gandhi Pratishthan on Saturday on International Forest Day. Praising these children who saved themselves and their families from the leopard attack, CM Yogi described them as inspiration for the society.

CM Yogi also honored the employees and social organizations doing excellent work in the forestry and wildlife sector. On this occasion, checks were also distributed to two beneficiary farmers under the Carbon Credit Project.

CM honored 10-year-old Achhelal of Bahraich and Tanu Singh (18) of Prayagraj. Achhe Lal was returning home from the farm on bicycle with his father on 6 December 2025 at 7 pm.

During this time, a leopard suddenly attacked from the sugarcane field on the way. While fighting the leopard, Good Lal displayed bravery and saved himself, due to which the leopard got discouraged and ran away.

At the same time, on January 8, 2026, a leopard suddenly entered the house of Ratan Singh in village Chhivaiya under Jhunsi area. Tanu Singh present in the room showed courage and wisdom. Tanu took out two small children with her and locked the leopard in the room, due to which the leopard was rescued safely without any loss of life.

The Chief Minister also honored the employees of the Forest Department in the forestry and wildlife sector. The CM gave citation to Pushpendra Singh, Deputy Regional Forest Officer of Moradabad Forest Division, Sunil Kumar Gond, Forest Guard of Hamirpur Forest Division, Shivam Kumar, Forest Guard of Rampur Forest Division and Reena Sharma, Gardener of Etah Forest Division.

The Chief Minister also honored social organizations doing excellent work in the field of forestry. In this sequence, National Organization Minister of Lok Bharti Brijendra Pal Singh and Satyendra Kumar Srivastava of Helping Hands Seva Sansthan, Jhansi were honored.

The Chief Minister distributed checks to two beneficiary farmers under the Carbon Credit Project. These checks were given to Ishwar Chand of Kushinagar and Sunita of Rae Bareli.

Before the start of the programme, the Chief Minister visited the exhibition organized by the Forest Department. During this, Minister of State for Forests (Independent Charge) Dr. Arun Kumar Saxena, Minister of State for Forests KP Malik etc. were also present.
