Navratri 2026 Bhog Recipe: The third day of Chaitra Navratri is dedicated to Mother Chandraghanta. The goddess, who has a golden aura and an hourglass-shaped crescent moon on her forehead, is very fond of milk and the sweets made from it. It is believed that offering Makhana Kheer on this day brings happiness and peace in the house and the defects of the planet Venus are removed.

According to the scriptures, the form of Mother Chandraghanta is very peaceful and beneficial. Milk has been given priority in his worship. This is the reason why devotees offer Kheer, Rabri or sweets made from milk on this day. Among these, Makhana Kheer is not only pure and satvik but is also considered an excellent source of energy during fasting.
Prepare instant Makhana Kheer
If you want to prepare pure bhog at home then Makhana Kheer is a great option. The method of making it is simple and time saving.
Material
2 cups flower makhana, 1 liter full cream milk, half cup sugar (or as per taste), 10-12 chopped almonds-cashews, half teaspoon cardamom powder and some saffron threads.

Method
- First of all, put some ghee in a heavy bottom pan and fry the makhanas till they become slightly crisp. Coarsely crush half of the roasted makhanas and leave the rest whole.
- Boil milk in a deep vessel until it becomes slightly thick. Now add roasted makhana and saffron in it.
- When the makhana becomes soft and the milk starts appearing thick, then add sugar and cardamom powder to it. Finally, garnish it with chopped dry fruits and offer hot or cold kheer to the mother.
