Gary Kirsten Exposes Pakistan Cricket Board: Coach Gary Kirsten, who led India to the 2011 ODI World Cup title, has strongly criticized the Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB). He has revealed how toxic the environment of Pakistan cricket is. Before the 2024 T20 World Cup, Kirsten became the head coach of the Pakistan cricket team, but after getting fed up, he resigned from the post after just 6 months. At the same time, he has now said that working there was not easy and it was almost impossible to achieve continuous success under the leadership of Mohsin Naqvi.

After resigning from the post of head coach of Pakistan, Gary Kirsten has recently become the coach of Sri Lanka cricket team. A few days later, Kirsten spoke openly about his difficult phase with Pakistan and explained why he had left the post of head coach after just 6 months. In an interview with talkSPORT Cricket, Kirsten said, “What surprised me the most was that there is so much interference from outside in the team’s decisions. I don’t think I have ever seen this level of interference before.”
He further said that in such an environment the coach is not able to talk openly to the players. He said, “When there is constant noise from outside, it is very difficult for a coach to find a way to come in and work with the players. It was difficult and there were a lot of punitive actions for poor performance and so on.”

Strong criticism of Mohsin Naqvi
Gary Kirsten further said about the work culture of PCB that when the team loses, the coach becomes the easiest target. He said, “Everyone says remove the coach, because that is the easiest thing to do. If this has to be done, then what is the point of keeping the coach?” Apart from this, he also raised questions on the tenure of Mohsin Naqvi and said that in such an environment it becomes almost impossible to perform well continuously.
