Rajnath Singh praised the CM of Uttarakhand, said – ‘Dhaakad’ Dhami, who is working hard, should now be called ‘Dhaandhar’.

Haldwani. Defense Minister Rajnath Singh on Saturday described Uttarakhand Chief Minister Pushkar Singh Dhami as ‘great’ and said that Dhami has done so much great work during his four-year tenure that I could never have imagined. Singh made this comment at a program organized here on the occasion of completion of four years of the second term of the Dhami government. The Defense Minister had described Dhami as ‘Dahakad’ during the last assembly elections in the state.

He said, “After seeing the work of four years, he should now be called Dhurandhar Dhami. He has done tremendous work. I could never have imagined that a government in a small state like Uttarakhand would be able to work so fast. In many cases, Uttarakhand has achieved the top position in the entire country.” Dhami took charge of the state as Chief Minister for the first time in July 2021. Dhami became the Chief Minister for the second time when BJP comes to power for the second consecutive time in the year 2022.

The Defense Minister said that Dhami has been the Chief Minister of Uttarakhand for five consecutive years and there is a BJP government in the state for the last nine years, which is an important chapter in the political history of Uttarakhand. He said that in the nine years of BJP government including four years of Dhami government, Uttarakhand has progressed very fast in every field including infrastructure, tourism, employment to youth, women empowerment. Singh said, “Under the guidance of Prime Minister Narendra Modi, the state is playing an important role in the development of the country with the confluence of spirituality and modernity.”

Referring to several projects including Char Dham All Weather Road Project, Rishikesh-Karnprayag Rail Project, Delhi-Dehradun Expressway, the Union Minister said that currently work is going on in Uttarakhand on projects worth more than Rs 2 lakh crore. He said that the double engine government is taking Uttarakhand forward on the path of development and now no one can stop it from becoming a developed state.

Singh said that Uttarakhand, along with being Devbhoomi and Tapobhoomi, is also Veerbhoomi and the Dhami government has taken special care of ex-servicemen. He said that Uttarakhand is the only state in the country to increase the ex-gratia amount of soldiers awarded with Param Vir Chakra by three times from Rs 50 lakh to Rs 1.5 crore, while a military base has also been constructed in this state in the memory of the soldiers who sacrificed their lives.

Congratulating the Dhami government for becoming the first state in the country to implement the Citizenship Amendment Act (UCC), the Union Minister said that all parties do politics to form the government but BJP does politics to build the country and society and this is the biggest difference between them. Describing Uttarakhand as the center of faith and culture, Singh praised the work being done by the Dhami government to keep it safe and sacred. He said that there is no place for illegal encroachment in Uttarakhand, against which the state government is taking strict action while ten thousand illegal encroachments have also been removed under the leadership of the Chief Minister.
