Returning to Belfast after almost two decades
The most special thing about this series is that both the matches will be played in Belfast on 26th June and 28th June. The Indian team is returning to the ground in Belfast after almost 19 years. Before this, India last played a match here in the year 2007. Whenever India toured Ireland in the last few years (2018, 2022 and 2023), the matches were played in Malahide, Dublin.

The month of June is going to be very busy
The June schedule is going to be quite packed for Team India. Before traveling to Ireland, India will host Afghanistan on home soil, where a Test and three ODI series will be played. This series will end on June 20. Immediately after this, the team will fly to Ireland and from there will go directly to England, where a series of 5 T20 and 3 ODI matches is to be held from July 1 to July 19.
The beginning of a new era for Ireland
The Ireland Cricket Board is viewing this series as preparation for the 2028 T20 World Cup. Ireland’s High Performance Director Graham West said that after veteran player Paul Stirling stepped down from the T20 captaincy, this will be a great opportunity for the new captain to try his strategies against a strong team like India.
