Injured Steph Curry will return to practice in ‘coming days,’ continues to make ‘good progress’
Steph Curry accompanied the Warriors on their six-game road trip, but the Golden State superstar won’t return to the court until the team returns home.
Curry, who missed his 20th consecutive game Friday night with inflammation in his right knee, is continuing to make “good progress” in his recovery from runner’s knee but won’t be reevaluated again until the Warriors are back in San Francisco, the team said Saturday.
Coach Steve Kerr said earlier this week that he expected Curry to return this season, “for sure.”
Curry appears to be trending in that direction.
According to latest update from the Warriors, Curry is on the cusp of returning to live-action and practicing with the team. He has “intensified” his individual on-court workouts and should rejoin team practices “in the coming days.”
Curry, averaging 27.2 points per game, last played on Jan. 30, when the Warriors were 27-23 and in eighth place in the Western Conference. They have gone 6-14 during his current absence, falling to 33-36 and into the No. 10 spot, behind the Clippers and Trail Blazers.
The Warriors also provided an update on Moses Moody, who has missed the past nine games with a sprained right wrist. Moody is also set to return to practice in the coming days, the team said. He has intensified his shooting drills and other on-court work and will be reevaluated again Tuesday.
