This is considered to be Iran’s biggest attack so far on an American base away from the Middle East. However, both the missiles failed to reach their targets. According to US officials, one missile was destroyed in flight, while an interceptor missile was fired from a US warship to intercept the other. It is not yet clear whether the interceptor completely destroyed the target or not. This incident has raised new concerns regarding security in the area.
