Double attack of the weather! Storm alert in 20 states, rain at some places and heat at some places
New Delhi. The weather has taken a sudden turn in many parts of the country. While rain and strong winds have caused a drop in temperature in North India, warnings regarding thunderstorms have been issued for many states. India Meteorological Department (IMD) has predicted rapid change in weather in large parts of North and Central India.
Impact in many states including Delhi-NCR
According to the latest forecast, the weather patterns in Delhi-NCR, Haryana, Punjab and Rajasthan may change rapidly. There is a possibility of strong winds and light to moderate rain with cloudy weather throughout the day in many areas. The speed of winds can reach 40 to 50 kilometers per hour.

While on one hand there will be respite from rain in some areas, on the other hand, strong sunlight can also be seen during the day at many places. The maximum temperature in Delhi-NCR is expected to be between 32 to 33 degrees Celsius, due to which the feeling of heat will remain during the day, while the weather may be relatively pleasant in the evening.
Condition of UP, Punjab-Haryana
The weather is currently dry over western and central parts of Uttar Pradesh, but the Terai areas may remain partly cloudy. Whereas in Punjab and Haryana, despite the weather being clear during the day, the night temperature is falling.
Weather changed in hilly states
At the same time, a different form of weather is being seen in the hilly areas. There is a possibility of light snowfall and rain in the higher reaches of Jammu and Kashmir, Himachal Pradesh and Uttarakhand due to western disturbance. While the effect of heat continues in the plains like Dehradun and Haridwar, cold winds are blowing in the higher altitude areas.
Caution is necessary for people
The Meteorological Department has advised people to remain alert, especially in areas where there is a possibility of strong winds and thunderstorms. Farmers and travelers have also been appealed to take necessary precautions keeping in mind the changing weather.
