‘Make in India’ initiative has immense potential for development in India: Mitsubishi Chemical President!

Mitsubishi Chemical Engineering Corporation President Hiroki Fujii said on Sunday that India has always had immense development potential and ‘Make in India’ is a great initiative of Prime Minister Narendra Modi. It was very well designed and is an effective policy.

Speaking to news agency IANS, Fujii said, “I think ‘Make in India’ promoted by Prime Minister Narendra Modi is a great initiative. It is very well designed and it is an effective policy.”

He further said that for a country to achieve domestic growth, it is necessary to increase consumption at the local level. While it is important to increase exports, developing the domestic market is equally important.

Fuji further told IANS that there has always been immense potential for development in India. The growth that has been seen in the country’s economy in the last decade is commendable. During this period, there has been a decline in the growth rate of countries like China, but India’s economy continues to grow at the rate of 6-7 percent.

The head of the Japanese company said that the current growth and dynamism in the Indian economy is largely due to the policies of Prime Minister Narendra Modi. I believe that India’s economy will continue to grow like this in the coming times.

Earlier, in the India Progress Report 2025-26 released by NXT Foundation, it was reported that India has become the fourth largest economy in the world, overtaking Japan with a nominal GDP of $ 4.8 trillion. It remains the world’s fastest growing economy with a growth rate of 8.2 percent and will soon become the world’s third largest GDP.
