‘I am not MLA-MP, I have come to fulfill Charan Singh’s dream’ KC Tyagi left JDU and joined RLD, BJP’s tension increased!

New Delhi: Senior leader KC Tyagi has said goodbye to Janata Dal United (JDU). He has joined the membership of Rashtriya Lok Dal (RLD). RLD national president and Union Minister Jayant Choudhary warmly welcomed him at a program in Delhi. With this step, discussion has started about the formation of a new equation in the politics of Western Uttar Pradesh.

Decision to join RLD

KC Tyagi has been associated with JDU for a long time. He has also been a former MP and Rajya Sabha member. Recently he resigned from JDU. After a meeting with supporters at Mavalankar Hall in Delhi on March 22, he announced to join RLD. This program took place in the presence of Jayant Chaudhary, where Tyagi received the primary membership card of the party.

RLD is a part of the NDA alliance, hence KC Tyagi will remain with the NDA, but his move is being seen towards strengthening the vote bank of the Jat and Tyagi communities.

What did KC Tyagi say?

As soon as he joined the party, KC Tyagi emotionally said that Chaudhary Charan Singh had given him the ticket to contest elections from Hapur at a very young age. He also provided financial help. Tyagi said, "Now I have not come to become an MP or MLA. I have come to RLD seeing Jayant Chaudhary as Chaudhary Charan Singh."

He recalled that at the time of formation of Lok Dal in 1974, he was present on the stage of Charan Singh. After 52 years, now he is making a new beginning with Jayant Chaudhary. His aim is to carry forward the legacy of the Chaudhary family.

Jayant Chaudhary’s praise and invitation

Last week, a book written by KC Tyagi was released, in which Jayant Chaudhary was the chief guest. At that time Jayant had said that every political party needs experienced and dedicated leaders like KC Tyagi. RLD had given an open invitation to Tyagi to join the party.

Welcoming Jayant Choudhary, he said that Tyagi’s experience and old relationship with the Choudhary family will strengthen RLD. This step will prove helpful in further improving the party’s position in Western UP.

Expected impact on Western UP

KC Tyagi’s joining RLD can bring changes in the politics of Western Uttar Pradesh. He has been associated with Chaudhary Charan Singh, Ajit Singh and now Jayant Chaudhary. His decision is considered important before the 2027 assembly elections.
