K3G 2 Will Never Be Made: Karan Johar has put an end to all the speculations regarding the sequel of his cult classic film ‘Kabhi Khushi Kabhie Gham’ (K3G). While nowadays there is a trend in Bollywood to capitalize on nostalgia through films like ‘Gadar 2’ and ‘Border 2’, Karan Johar has made it clear that he does not want to tamper with the legacy of his historical film. Recently, during an interview, filmmaker Karan Johar completely denied the news that part 2 of Shahrukh Khan and Hrithik Roshan starrer ‘K3G’ is about to come. Karan clarified that neither any sequel is being made nor any work related to his ambitious project ‘Takht’ is going on.

While talking to Sonal Kalra’s show ‘The Right Angle’ (Season 3), Karan Johar answered the burning question. He said, “I am happy that I got this platform so that I can clearly say that ‘Kabhi Khushi Kabhi Gham 2’ is not being made nor is any spin-off of ‘Takht’ being made.
Respecting heritage and memories
In today’s era, where making sequels of old films is considered a ‘safe bet’ and a profitable deal, Karan Johar has a different perspective. He kept the audience’s emotional attachment towards the film paramount. Cultural impact: Karan said that K3G has become a cultural phenomenon, which generations have grown up watching. People have laughed and cried with the characters of this film. Karan does not want to reduce this ‘nostalgia’.

Clarification given on ‘Takht’ also
For a long time, there was talk about Karan Johar’s period drama ‘Takht’ that perhaps it might be brought in some other form. Karan also rejected this and clarified that at present there is no derivative or spin-off related to that project in the pipeline.
