Russian Foreign Minister Sergei Lavrov’s allegation – America is trying to capture the world energy market.

Moscow, March 22. Russian Foreign Minister Sergei Lavrov has accused America of adopting a policy of dominating the global energy market. Lavrov said in an interview with Russian media on Saturday, ‘America is only concerned about its own interests. It is willing to go to any length to maintain its prosperity, whether it be coups, kidnappings or targeting leaders of countries that have natural resources vital to Washington. This whole issue is related to oil.”

America is ready to go to any extent to maintain its prosperity

According to news agency Xinhua, Lavrov further said that America believes in the principle that its benefits always come before international agreements. The United States has welcomed and continues to welcome Russia’s isolation from the European energy market. He emphasized that to cooperate with Russia, America must first respect Russia’s position.

Russian Foreign Ministry also cursed the European Union

Earlier on Friday, a Russian Foreign Ministry spokesperson said that European leaders are deliberately pushing their countries into a state of crisis and energy shortage by continuously rejecting Russian energy resources. Maria Zakharova said in a post on her Telegram channel, ‘It is not a technological disaster or a natural disaster that is creating a global crisis in the European Union, but it is the decisions of its own leaders that are simply changing the situation.’

Many member countries have opposed the EU’s stance

European Commission President Ursula von der Leyen on Friday confirmed the EU’s firm stance. It also explicitly prohibits member states from purchasing Russian natural gas amid rising tensions in the Middle East and in the face of a serious energy crisis in Europe.

However, this stance of the EU was opposed by some member countries, which are heavily dependent on Russia’s energy supply. Hungarian Prime Minister Viktor Orban earlier this month appealed to the EU to end the ban on Russian energy, warning that rising oil prices and supply disruptions threaten the region’s energy security.
