Players who leave PSL and choose IPL will be punished, know what PCB Chairman said?

Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) Chairman Mohsin Naqvi has expressed displeasure over those international players who are leaving the Pakistan Super League (PSL) midway and moving to the Indian Premier League (IPL). He has taken a strict stance against such players and warned of legal action.

Let us tell you, this controversy increased when Sri Lankan all-rounder Dasun Shanaka decided to leave PSL and join IPL. Rajasthan Royals have included him in the team as a replacement for Sam Curran. Earlier, Shanaka was a part of Lahore Qalandars in PSL.

At the same time, before Shanaka, Zimbabwean fast bowler Blessing Muzarabani has also left PSL and joined IPL. Kolkata Knight Riders have included him in the team as a replacement for Mustafizur Rahman.

Let us tell you, Mohsin Naqvi said that this is not the first time that players have given priority to IPL instead of PSL. Last year too, South African player Corbin Bosh had left PSL and participated in IPL, after which PCB started legal action against him.

At the same time, Naqvi clearly said that this year also such cases will be taken seriously and action will be taken against the players concerned. However, he also claimed that it will not have much impact on the popularity of PSL, because this year too many big international players are going to participate in the league.

Meanwhile, considering the current international situation, PSL 2026 will be organized on a limited scale. All the matches of the league will be played only in Lahore and Karachi. Due to security reasons, spectators will not be allowed to enter the stadium this time.

Naqvi said that this decision has been taken in view of the ongoing tension in the area and the safety of the players and staff is the top priority. He expressed hope that after the situation improves, the audience will return again in the future.

Experts believe that the increasing competition for players between IPL and PSL may intensify in the future.
