Mumbai: Another accused who opened fire at Rohit Shetty’s house arrested from Agra
Mumbai. Police has got a big success in the firing case at the house of famous film producer Rohit Shetty. Pradeep Sharma alias Golu Pandit, the wanted accused in this sensational incident, has been arrested from Agra. Mumbai Police issued a statement saying, this action was taken by a joint team of Uttar Pradesh Special Task Force (UP STF) and Mumbai Crime Branch. Continuous efforts were being made for a long time to arrest the accused.
Let us tell you that on the night of 1 February 2026, there was a firing incident at Shetty Tower, the residence of Rohit Shetty in Mumbai. Internationally notorious criminal Shubham Lonkar gang was said to be behind this attack. The gang’s motive behind this incident was to spread terror among the film industry, industrialists and common people and extort money. In this case, Mumbai Crime Branch had registered a case under serious sections and the search for the accused was going on. The arrested accused Pradeep Sharma (23), is a resident of Mahavir Nagar area of Agra. He was caught from Bah police station area of Agra on Saturday, (21st March) at around 3:50 pm. He will be produced in the Fort Court of Mumbai on Sunday.
Police had received secret information that he was hiding in the area, after Mumbai Crime Branch got his location, help of UP STF was taken. After which STF Inspector Akash Singh, PSI Yogendra Singh and Mumbai Crime Branch officer Swapnil Kale and API Amol Mali along with their entire team surrounded and arrested Pradeep Sharma alias Golu Pandit from his house. During interrogation, the accused revealed that after seeing the posts of Shubham Lonkar gang on social media, he got influenced by them and joined this gang. According to the police, he along with his associates had carried out firing incidents earlier also. Even before this, he had been caught with a weapon in a case and had gone to jail.
Was constantly changing locations to avoid arrest!
Many other accused involved in this entire case have already been arrested on 15 February 2026. Investigation has also revealed that Pradeep Sharma was constantly changing locations and hiding to avoid his arrest. At present, after the arrest, the accused was produced in Agra Court for legal process, from where he was handed over to Mumbai Crime Branch on transit remand. Further legal action is being taken by Mumbai Police. Police say that the investigation is going on continuously to dismantle the network of this entire gang, many more revelations may be made soon. Investigative agencies suspect that the gang’s network is spread across many states of the country and youth are being drawn into the world of crime through social media.
Where did you start becoming a gangster?
During police interrogation, accused Pradeep Sharma alias Golu told that he had been influenced by the activities of Lawrence Bishnoi gang and Shubham Lonkar gang on social media. Seeing the videos and posts of this gang on Facebook and Instagram, he felt that people are afraid of them and that they have influence. Under this influence, he decided to join the gang and enter the world of crime.
According to the police, the accused, along with his associates, has carried out many criminal activities. Investigation has revealed that the purpose of firing at Rohit Shetty’s house was to spread terror and establish dominance through extortion. This attack was carried out on the instructions of Shubham Lonkar gang associated with Lawrence Bishnoi gang. The arrested accused told the police that some members of the gang were planning to extort money and show their influence by threatening people associated with Bollywood.
There was firing at Rohit Shetty’s house on the night of 1 February 2026.
This whole matter happened late night of 1 February 2026. When unknown assailants opened fire on Rohit Shetty’s nine-storey building located in Juhu area of Mumbai at around 12:45 pm. The attackers fired at least five rounds towards the first floor of the building. One of these bullets hit the glass of the building’s gym. After this incident, sensation spread in the entire area. After which the police immediately registered the case and started investigation.
Post went viral on social media after firing
After the incident, a post went viral on social media in which responsibility for the attack was claimed. According to the report, this post was made from a Facebook account named Shubham Lonkar Arzoo. It was claimed in the post that Shubham Lonkar, Arju Bishnoi, Hari Boxer and Harman Sandhu take responsibility for the firing at Rohit Shetty’s house. It was also written in the post that, this is only a trailer and if his words are not obeyed then next time the bullet will be fired inside the bedroom and not outside the house. The situation could be worse than that of Baba Siddiqui. Bollywood was also given an open warning in the viral post. It was said in the post that, if people do not listen to him in time, they will have to face serious consequences. It was even said that next time the bullet would be fired directly into the chest. After this threatening message, Mumbai Police took the matter seriously and increased security.
7 accused arrested so far
A total of 7 accused have been arrested so far in the firing case at Rohit Shetty’s house. Five of these accused are residents of Bah area of Agra. The arrested accused include Deepak (24), Sunny (23), Sonu (23), Hrithik (22), Vishnu Kushwaha (26), Jatin Bhardwaj (24) and Vishal.
According to the police, all these accused were linked to the gang by Pradeep Sharma alias Golu and played an important role in planning the firing. Pradeep Sharma has been involved in criminal incidents earlier also. It is reported that on May 28, 2025, he was arrested with a pistol and sent to jail in connection with the firing at a person’s house in Nagaur district of Rajasthan. After coming out of jail, he again joined the gang and became active in criminal activities.
Who is Shubham Lonkar?
Shubham Lonkar is a key member of the Lawrence Bishnoi gang. He is a resident of Akola, Maharashtra and earlier used to work in dairy there. Later, influenced by Lawrence Bishnoi, he joined the gang. According to the police, Shubham is also considered the technical and social media handler of the Lonkar gang. He operates several social media accounts of the gang and threatening messages are spread through them.
Lawrence Bishnoi is considered one of the most famous gangsters of India. His real name is Satwinder Singh and he is a resident of Datarawali village in Fazilka district of Punjab. According to police records, there are more than 80 criminal cases registered against him across the country. At present, he is lodged in Sabarmati jail of Ahmedabad.
It is noteworthy that the name of Lawrence Bishnoi gang has come up in many high profile cases. Among them, popular Punjabi singer and Congress leader Sidhu Moose Wala (28) was shot dead by unknown assailants on 29 May 2022 in Jawaharke village of Mansa district of Punjab. According to the post-mortem report, Moose Wala was hit by 19 bullets and died within 15 minutes. Cases like murder of Karni Sena president Sukhdev Singh Gogamedi, threat to famous film actor Salman Khan and conspiracy of firing at his house and murder of former Maharashtra minister Baba Siddiqui are included.
Baba Siddiqui murder case
Shubham Lonkar’s name also came up in the murder case of former Maharashtra minister Baba Siddiqui. Baba Siddiqui (66) was shot dead in public by three assailants late in the evening of 12 October 2024. After this he was taken to Lilavati Hospital, where he was declared dead. It is said that he also had an important role in plotting this murder. He had also claimed responsibility for this murder on social media.
