Bharat NCAP: New Tata Sierra achieved 5 star rating in crash test, know price and features

Bharat NCAP: Tata Sierra 2026 has set a new benchmark in terms of safety. The iconic SUV has achieved an excellent 5-star rating in both adult and child protection in the latest crash test by Bharat NCAP. Launched at a starting price of ₹ 11.49 lakh, this SUV has now become one of the safest cars in India.

Strong performance in adult safety
In Adult Occupant Protection (AOP), Sierra got 31.14 out of 32 points. In the frontal offset test, the driver and co-driver’s head and thighs were rated ‘Good’, while the driver’s chest and knees were rated ‘Adequate’. All body parts received ‘Good’ protection in side impact and side pole tests, indicating its strong body structure.

Also tops in child safety
In child occupant protection (COP), the Sierra scored 44.73 out of 49. In the dynamic test, it scored 23.73 out of 24, which is almost a perfect score. CRS installation gets a full 12 points, making it easy to fit the child seat safely.

Advanced Safety Features
Sierra gets features like level-2 ADAS, 7 airbags, 360-degree camera, electronic stability control (ESC), tire pressure monitoring system (TPMS), hill hold assist and electronic parking brake with auto-hold. All these features make it very strong in terms of safety.

price and competition
Coming in the price range of ₹ 11.49 lakh to ₹ 21.29 lakh, this SUV gives tough competition to Hyundai Creta, Kia Seltos, Renault Duster, Maruti Grand Vitara, Toyota Urban Cruiser Hyrider and Honda Elevate.
