UPSC civil services result 2025: 958 candidates recommended for IAS, IPS, IFS and central services
The Union Public Service Commission (UPSC) has declared the final results of the Civil Services Examination (CSE) 2025 on March 6, 2026recommending candidates for appointment to key services including the Indian Administrative Service (IAS), Indian Foreign Service (IFS), Indian Police Service (IPS) and other central services.
According to the official press note issued by the government, the result is based on the written Civil Services Main Examination held in August 2025 and the Personality Test (interviews) conducted between December 2025 and February 2026.
958 candidates recommended for appointment
The commission has recommended a total of 958 candidates for appointment across various services. The category-wise breakup includes:
- 317 candidates from the General category
- 104 candidates from the EWS category
- 306 candidates from the OBC category
- 158 candidates from the SC category
- 73 candidates from the ST category
These figures also include candidates from PwBD categories across different groups.
Vacancies reported by the government
The Government of India reported 1,087 vacancies to be filled through CSE 2025 across services. These include:
- 180 vacancies for IAS
- 55 vacancies for IFS
- 150 vacancies for IPS
- 507 vacancies for Central Services Group ‘A’
- 195 vacancies for Group ‘B’ services
The vacancy figures also include 42 posts reserved for Persons with Benchmark Disabilities (PwBD).
Reserve list and provisional candidates
UPSC has also prepared a consolidated reserve list of 258 candidates across categories. In addition, the candidature of 348 recommended candidates has been kept provisionalwhile the results of two candidates have been withheld.
The complete merit list, which includes names, roll numbers, and ranks of all recommended candidateshas been released on the official UPSC website.
Candidates can download the result PDF from upsc.gov.inand the marks of candidates will be published on the website within 15 days from the declaration of the resultaccording to the commission.
