What is Offline UPI Payment Feature?

This facility works through USSD code. This means, if your phone has calling facility, you can complete transactions even without internet. There is no need to open any app or scan a QR code. In this you just need to dial a code and then a menu appears on the screen. Here you can complete the transaction. This method may seem a little conventional, but it is very useful when there is no network.

  • Making offline UPI payments is very easy. For this you have to follow some steps.
  • Dial *99# from your phone.
  • Now a menu will open on the screen, in which you will see several options.
  • In this you have to select send money option.
  • Now you can send money through mobile number, UPI ID or bank account.
  • After entering the mobile number, the person’s name will appear on the screen.
  • After confirming the name enter the amount.
  • Now enter the UPI PIN and your transaction is about to be completed.
  • The entire process is completed in seconds and does not require internet.

What is the transaction limit?

A transaction limit has been set for offline UPI payments. Currently, you can send a maximum of Rs 5,000 at a time. This limit is useful for small purchases or emergency transactions.
