Former Pak High Commissioner Abdul Basit warned India

Former High Commissioner of Pakistan Abdul Basit has warned India. He said that in a critical situation, Pakistan will have no option but to target Delhi and Mumbai, which has increased security and political concerns.

Pakistan: Amidst the ongoing complex situation in the Middle East, former High Commissioner of Pakistan Abdul Basit has given a controversial statement against India. He warned that if anyone looks at Pakistan badly or attacks it, then targeting India would be the last option for Pakistan. In this statement, he specifically named India’s capital Delhi and economic capital Mumbai, which has increased concern in political and security circles.

Abdul Basit’s statement

During a discussion on a Pakistani channel, Abdul Basit said that if America or any other country attacks Pakistan, then Pakistan will be forced to attack the major cities of India, Delhi and Mumbai. He said that this step will be taken only in serious and extraordinary circumstances and can never be taken lightly.

Basit repeatedly made it clear that this was an extreme situation and could not be considered desirable. He said, “We do not want this, India also does not want this. But if anyone looks at us in a bad light, then Pakistan will have no option but to attack.”

Abdul Basit’s experience in India

Abdul Basit is completely familiar to India. He served as Pakistan’s High Commissioner to New Delhi from 2014 to 2017. During this period, relations between the two countries became complicated many times. Basit has deep knowledge of India’s policies and security situation, which further increases the weight of his statement.

During his tenure many bilateral issues were discussed and contacted between Pakistan and India. Based on this experience, Basit highlighted the strategic importance of India in his comments.

Pakistan’s military actions in Afghanistan

At the time of this statement, Pakistan’s military activities are also continuing in Afghanistan. Afghan officials have accused Pakistan’s military of carrying out airstrikes in Kabul, Kandahar and Paktika areas. Taliban spokesman Zabihullah Mujahid said that many civilian sites, including rehabilitation centers, were targeted in the attacks.

Reports indicate heavy loss of life and property. This tension between Afghanistan and Pakistan is becoming a serious challenge to regional stability and can impact the entire region including India.

Impact on India-Pakistan relations

Abdul Basit’s statement has created new uncertainty in India-Pakistan relations. Defense experts believe that such blabbering only fuels tensions and could weaken diplomatic efforts between the two countries.

Security analysts said that India will have to further tighten the security of its capital and major cities. Apart from this, it is also necessary that India takes a strong stand against such threats by Pakistan in international forums.
